WELL3 Update: From Framework to Action
The WELL3 partnership (six organisations from Sweden, Austria, Portugal, and Italy) is making steady progress in its mission to embed wellbeing into school development.
At the heart of the project lies the Wellbeing Sensor, a set of structured questionnaires for school leaders, teachers, and students, grounded in William Glasser’s Five Basic Needs: Survival, Love & Belonging, Power, Freedom, and Fun. The English version is now being finalised and will soon be localised into Portuguese, Swedish, and German.
In parallel, the partnership has begun developing the Wellbeing Treasury, a curated collection of at least 40 practical methods and exercises, each linked to specific areas identified by the Sensor. When a school’s results reveal unmet needs, the Treasury offers concrete, ready-to-use strategies to address them.
The project’s online platform and website are also under development, designed to bring together all perspectives (learners, teachers, and school management) and guide wellbeing teams in building evidence-based action plans.
Meanwhile, the partnership is identifying 10 secondary schools across Europe to pilot these tools during the upcoming school year.
