Sequence of Steps

1

Role Assignment

⏱ 2 minutes
When starting with this intervention, invite the participants to choose their role in the following intervention:
Who is the case owner (has the problem)?
Who is the moderator (monitors time/rules)?
Who are the consultants?
2

Case Presentation

⏱ 10 minutes
The case owner describes the situation. He takes as much time as he needs, giving his thoughts and presenting his needs.
The consultants only listen.
3

Clarifying Questions

⏱ 5 minutes
Now it's time for clarification. The consultants question everything they don't understand. It's not about finding solutions here, but about laying the problem on the table as clearly as possible.
4

Hypotheses & Ideas

⏱ 15 - 20 minutes
Now it's the case owner only listening. Maybe he physically even turns away - in order not to avoid the temptation to intervene / participate in the discussion.
The consultants discuss the case as if the owner were not there ("I suspect the student needs...", "Maybe one could try...").
5

Selection of Solution & Feedback

⏱ 10 minutes
The case owner returns to the circle, shares what was helpful, and what they plan to try out.
💭

Reflection & Tips

Reflection

Do I feel supported by the team?
Did the outside perspective loosen my fixed view of the situation?

Tips for Implementation

Absolute confidentiality is the top priority! Nothing from the intervision session should leave the room.
