Values in Action (Storytelling Wall)

An interactive wall in the school building where short, true stories (anecdotes) are shared that demonstrate how a school value (e.g., respect, helpfulness, courage) was lived out in a specific situation.

✍️ Brigitta Rupp, PBÖ
⏱️ Duration Several school days
🔄 Frequency Over a longer period
👥 Target Group Students, Teachers, School Management, Parents
🎯

Purpose

The Storytelling Wall makes school culture tangible. Instead of just talking about values, they are "illustrated" through stories. This strengthens "Belonging" and gives those involved a sense of Significance ("Power"). It focuses perception on what is working well.

✅

Use and Learning Outcomes

  • 1. Identification with the school's values.
  • 2. Promoting a positive narrative culture ("Good News").
  • 3. Making "unsung heroes" visible in daily school life.
  • 4. Strengthening the "we-feeling" across all groups.
  • 5. Role model effect through concrete examples.
