Walk & Talk - An Active Parent-Teacher Meeting
Instead of holding parent-teacher meetings in the classroom, the conversation takes place during a walk on the school grounds or in the immediate vicinity.
Purpose
Moving forward and walking side-by-side reduces stress hormones and clears mental blocks.
Since eye contact is not permanently forced, difficult topics can be discussed more freely and authentically (Freedom).
Use and Learning Outcomes
- 1. Breaking down hierarchies by walking side-by-side at eye level.
- 2. Promoting the teacher's authenticity ("True Self").
- 3. Reducing anxiety and stress for both parents and teachers.
- 4. Fostering more creative problem-solving through physical movement.
- 5. Neutralizing the "classroom as a site of conflict."
