Sequence of Steps

1

Preparation & Analysis

⏱ 15-30 min
Before class:
Preparation & Analysis: The teacher designs the chart considering pedagogical goals and specific student needs (visual, hearing, security).
2

Introduction

⏱ 5 min
Suggest using words like: "Everyone has a reserved spot in this community to ensure comfort and optimal learning for all." Refer to the expected impact of reducing stress.
3

Reveal & Transition

⏱ 5-10 min
Display the new seating chart via projector or printout. Direct students to move to their new assigned desks calmly and efficiently.
4

Adjustment & Check-in

⏱ 5 min
Briefly verify that everyone can see and hear clearly from their new position and confirm they have the necessary materials at their new stations.
💭

Reflection & Tips

Reflection

Ask students: "How does having a guaranteed spot change how you feel when you walk into the room?" or "What is one thing you like about your new neighbors?"

Tips for Implementation

Change the chart 2-3 times a semester to refresh social dynamics. Pay attention to "quiet" exclusions where a student might be physically present but socially isolated. Ensure accessibility for all needs.
